The intention of this site is to support as many people as possible in creating a habit of practice. For 40 consecutive days, anyone who wants to can commit to a minimum of 10 minutes of asana. I will offer daily sequences here, something quick for busy days and a longer practice for when you have more time. Our start date is February 16, otherwise known as Fat Tuesday.

Day 5

This is from Christina's blog. I think it pretty well suits us now, don't you?

"Abhyasa (practice) is a dedicated, unswerving, constant, and vigilant search into a chosen subject pursued against all odds in the face of repeated failures, for indefinitely long periods of time."- B.K.S. Iyengar

Pretty much sums it up. This is the much distilled story. Longer versions forthcoming.

  1. If you are doing the sequence by your computer and don't have a timer, you can use this online stop watch www.online-stopwatch.com/eggtimer-countdown/
I paste the sequence into a word doc, do some translating, open itunes and the stop watch and it's like a little yoga class on screen!

Loving the very do-able time lengths, Meg. Big key to helping us do it every day.

  2. Miss Carrie, Very cool link. Sounds like you have the set up all figured. Love it.
When I was first beginning to practice on the regular, I met a woman who said that it was of greater benefit to practice for a short time every day than to practice for a long time less frequently. Me, I am a fan of both. When I manage to do at least something everyday, I am much more ready to go for those days when I have a long time for practice.
    Keep it up!
